A letter to the editor in the Courier Journal by Madeline Faber, policy associate at the Center for Rural Affairs, highlighted that Region 7 TCTAC Heartland Environmental Justice Center offers assistance with the USDA's Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) applications. With grants covering up to 25% and loan guarantees covering up to 75% of eligible project costs, REAP makes it more affordable for business owners and producers to purchase and install energy-efficient equipment or renewable energy systems to help lower costs and reduce their environmental impact. The deadline for REAP applications is September 30. The Hemingford Ledger shared the Courier Journal op-ed.
